Camera access needed
refractoScope reads the Salinity% scale live through your camera. Nothing leaves your device — all processing happens locally, and the app keeps working offline once loaded.

Camera access is blocked. Open your browser's site settings for this page and allow Camera, then reload.
- iOS Safari: Settings app → Safari → Camera → Allow (or the “aA” menu in the address bar → Website Settings).
- Android Chrome: tap the lock/info icon left of the address bar → Permissions → Camera → Allow.
Drag the two handles onto two known tick marks on the scale (e.g. the 100 and 0 Salinity ticks), narrow the box to sit just inside the tick column, then confirm the values below. All the alignment lines are dashed and the value labels sit off to the right of the box, out of the way of the scale itself, so it's easier to see the tick marks underneath while lining things up. The dashed outline shows the padded area actually sampled — it's normal for it to extend below the box so low readings near the bottom tick still detect reliably.
