Align the scale with the guide box, then tap Calibrate once to teach refractoScope your scale. For the most accurate zero, load a 0% sample (e.g. distilled water) and tap Tare.
Drag the two handles onto two known tick marks on the scale (e.g. the 30 and 0 Brix ticks), narrow the box to sit just inside the tick column, then confirm the values below. The dashed outline shows the padded area actually sampled — it's normal for it to extend below the box so low readings near the bottom tick still detect reliably.
